And a Knot Was Tied!

It's official and she's a Mrs! That's me planting a kiss. Would you say she's happy?

Topsy-Turvy Time

My oldest daughter will be wed in less than 48 hours. Family has started arriving and will be staying through the weekend, a few until after Christmas. All these comings and goings turn the quiet life hubby and I share completely upside down! But it is good! We don't get to see all of our children often as they are scattered about in five states. I guess that's why I have two dogs now. My fur babies :)

I'm sitting alone tonight waiting for the bride and her stepsister to pick up my youngest daughter and her hubby; they are flying in from California. I haven't seen them since last Christmas. My son will arrive from Rhode Island tomorrow. My other stepdaughter and her hubby will arrive from Indiana on Friday. We have not all been together since my youngest daughter got married in 2003, so this really is a treat!

It's hard having all my children live so far away. I raised them to grow wings, and by golly, they used them and flew. On one hand, I am very proud of their independent and adventurous spirit; on the other hand, I wish they felt the need to be closer to home. Maybe in time ... there does seem to be some talk in that direction by a few of them. I need to be patient and trust my God that He knows what is best for us and for our salvation.

This is living life at the foot of the cross; bringing the only significant offering I can bring ... a mother's pierced heart. Jesus understands that, I think.

No, I 'm not dead; well, maybe just a little dead.
Had a virus two weeks ago
Had a tooth pulled one week ago
Got a puppy yesterday
All the family's comin' to stay Thursday (13 humans)
Havin' a wedding Friday

So, how's your week?

His name is Otto and he's a 5 month old puggle (pug/beagle). He seems to act more like a beagle than a pug, though. So far, our biggest problem is that he does not like being crated. If I am sitting next to him, he whines a bit, but if we leave the room, he whines, barks, then resorts to howling. Not pleasant!

Last night, we put his crate right beside hubby's head and that seemed to be fine. He slept all night. Hope that continues.

Lord, have mercy!
